'Birds and Writing' –  a Kent Animal

Humanities Network event related to modules 'The Unknown' and 'Animals, Humans, Writing' with Nicholas Royle (Professor Of English in the Centre for Literature and Philosophy, Centre for Creative and Critical Thought, University of Sussex, author of An English Guide to Birdwatching: A Novel), Alex Preston (Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Kent, novelist, critic and author of As Kingfishers Catch Fire: Birds and Books) and Ben Hickman (Senior Lecturer in Modern Poetry at Kent and author of If Bird, Then Tree).

Readings of recent work about birds, followed by discussion of birds and writing. Liquid refreshment. All welcome.
