Meta-Atoms For 3D Printing Meta Materials
Kent Physics Centre

In this seminar, Prof Yiannis Vardaxoglou (University of Loughborough) will introduce the concept of the uses of MeTa-Atoms (MTAs) in electromagnetic and engineered materials. MTAs are meso-scale inclusions in the host material. These meta-atoms could be varied in constitution and geometry to augment a a variety of artificial and novel magneto- dielectric properties. Various 3D printed multi-layered metamaterials with different periodicities of dielectric or metallic inclusions will be shown.

The Physical Sciences colloquia series is sponsored by the Institute of Physics.
