'The Role of Research in the Next Stage of the TEF Exercise Evolution'

Speaker Biography: Dr Tsitsianis is senior lecturer in Accounting and Director of Student Experience and Engagement at QMW- University of London. His research interests include Financial and Corporate performance, Business Models, Behavioural Economics and Information Systems. His research addresses the development of reference data analysis to further our understanding of economic phenomena and for the purpose of corporate financial analysis and market valuation. This approach has been used, for example, in his research on income and happiness and the nature of the digital divide.

Synopsis: The TEF exercise enters into its most crucial phase. It will be moving from University Level to Departmental Level and each department will be assessed on its own. In this talk, Dr Tsitsianis will provide a platform/share ideas/recommend practice on how Research can find its way into Teaching Practice and our daily interaction with our students. Integrating new research knowledge with teaching has become an important area that needs careful attention with the growing emphasis on student learning activities and quality assurance procedures.  This integration is envisaged to impact on NSS Scores, Continuation and Employability of students, all of which are pivotal TEF parameters.
