#EmpFest17 - Making a besom (a witch's broom) in time for Halloween

Using coppiced materials to produce a 'besom' or witch's broom – a traditional coppiced woodland craft product. Understanding the materials (hazel/willow brash + sweet chestnut/ash pole) and how to bring them together to create an effective besom. The broom can be used during Halloween and to sweep away winter blues, but flying lessons for novice witches are not included! Note: participants must wear sturdy shoes (safety shoes if you have them - there are some available to borrow) - and old/work clothes.
