Vice Chancellor's Research Scholarships

The Vice Chancellor’s Research Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding applicants able to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, excellent communication skills, and the potential to make a strong contribution to their chosen field of research.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their ability to teach on our undergraduate Drama, Film or Media Studies programmes, with the support of their supervisors and the module convenors, for approximately four hours of teaching per week over the three years of the award.

In addition to the School of Arts Awards, the Faculty will also be awarding two Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships in the area of Medical Humanities and so we will be pleased to receive applications on topics concerning medicine, health and well-being broadly conceived.

It is strongly recommended that you contact the School Director of Graduate Studies to discuss your research proposal. If you already know the member of staff you wish to supervise your project, you should contact them directly.

Candidates must make a formal application to study on a School of Arts doctoral programme, by the 19 January 2020.

Candidates must also submit the School of Arts Scholarship Application demonstrating their suitability as a Graduate Teaching Assistant by the 19th January 2020 to
