University of Kent in America (UKA)

The University of Kent in America Inc (UKA) was established to enable more events and networking opportunities for Kent's many alumni in America. It's also a US registered charity (501(c)(3)) which raises funds for exciting student-focused initiatives.

UKA has recently funded its fourth Fulbright UKA Scholarship, allowing an exceptional US student to study at the University of Kent - made possible entirely by alumni donations! Shannon Laribo, is the 2016-17 Fulbright UKA Scholar, and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Methods of Social Research.

Find out more of why this scholarship is vital to oustanding students by viewing our collection of Fulbright UKA scholar videos.

UKA activities are coordinated by a dedicated set of volunteers who sit on the Board and guide the group in their efforts to assist Kent with international recruitment, developing and connecting alumni and fundraising to support students.

The University of Kent has also been recognised as a prescribed foreign university under section 3503 of the Canadian Income Tax Regulations.

UKA Chapters

The University of Kent in America aims to reach as many of our alumni and friends across the States as possible, to connect them with friends and networks and help them stay in touch and get involved with the University. We have therefore started to establish some smaller groups, or chapters, of the UKA community, to help build up these relationships and get alumni and friends to work together to support UKA’s activities.

We currently have chapters in New York, Boston, Washington D.C, Midwest and Southern California. If you would like to get involved, check out the Facebook groups below, or click here to find out how to set up your own chapter!
