Regional impact

Developing sporting talent

Our extensive sporting facilities are open to all, delivering a range of health and fitness options to Canterbury and the Medway.

Key facts

Led by former England hockey international Mel Clewlow, Kent Sport combines expert advice and training for professionals with popular facilities for the wider community.

We are home to many local cricket, hockey and rugby clubs, while our Centre for Sport Studies provides key rehabilitation, sports therapy and nutrition services.

Local people can also enjoy our regular programme of dance and exercise classes, with wider community initiatives including holiday sports camps for kids and Canterbury’s regular ParkRun event.

We also provide scholarships to students with outstanding sporting ability, supporting the likes of Women’s Rugby World Cup winner Natasha Brennan and England Women cricketer Joanna Watts to pursue their dreams.
