'Kent on the web' provides a range of forums for the discussion of web related issues at the University, to request help and to provide a community area for web authors to share ideas, help and tools among one another.

General discusssion

  • General discussion
    This forum should be used to talk about general matters that do not have a specific forum below.
  • Resources
    This forum should be used as a resource repository. Add useful resources relating to the web. The forum may even already have something you are looking for.
  • WSSG web forum meetings
    This forum is used to discuss the Web forum meetings that happen throughout the year. It can also be used to discuss things that you would like to see happen at the next web forum meeting.
  • Web workshops
    Discuss any of the web workshops you have attended. Get your questions anwered by the leader of the workshop. You could even suggest new workshops for the future.

Product and services

  • University template
    Discuss the University's standard departmental template. Feel free to ask questions about how to do something with the template or snippets. You can also make feature requests here too.
  • All products and services
    Use this forum to talk about any of the web-based products and services around the University. Some products have their own forum dependong on the amount of discussion around the product. Please use the specific forum before using this general one.
  • Knowledgebase web application
    Discussion surrounding the use and administration of the Knowledgebase web application.

Brief guide and rules

Only Kent users will be able to contribute to the forums. As a user you will be able to:

  • Create topics.
    A topic should only be created when there is not another topic like it. Before creating a topic, check the forum to see that it has not already been covered. Searching for your topic is recommended before creating a new topic.
  • Post to already created topics.
    If you have a response or question relating to an existing topic then posting will allow you to add a entry into a topic.
  • Edit a Post
    You will only be able to edit posts that you have created.
