The new Student Portal aims to provide a 'one-stop-shop' dashboard view of personalised data and student information via a series of tabbed pages.

In the current version:

Students can login to the portal using their Kent account and see a dashboard of their personalised data, including:

• Current modules for this term
• Weekly course timetable that includes lectures and seminars
• Exam timetables
• Assessment information, including set, due and return dates
• Live@edu quota and usage information
• Library fines and books on loan
• Moodle summary of course news and announcements
• Subscribe to user's choice of RSS feeds
• Facebook dashboard

The portal also contains student centred information, which is available without logging in:

• Student guide to University services
• IT Service alerts
• Kent student, transportation and parking news
• News feeds from around the world
• Emergency information (only appears when necessary)
• Online directory of staff and students
• Careers information such as CV help and job board
• Light-hearted content under the 'fun' tab, Word of the Day, number guessing game and cartoons
• Current weather in Canterbury and Medway

In development for future versions:

• Direct access to Live@edu
• Student Finance
• Custom content for departments and colleges
• Print credits
