Blog guidelines
Pilot service
This is a pilot service initially open to departments who expressed a prior interest in blogs. The pilot status allows the service to be fine-tuned. It is expected that this service will become a full service in summer 2009 following the ISC meeting on 10th June. The service will then be open to all departments and staff. The blog guideline document gives advice and guidance to staff members using a blog. The document covers the following topics:
- What is a blog?
- What types of blog are available at Kent?
- Who can have a Kent blog?
- How do I get a Kent blog?
- What should I call my blog?
- What should my Kent blog be about?
- What should I be aware of when I write?
- Comments and moderating your blog.
- A guide to regulations.
- Table of blogging responsibilities.
- Blogging tips
- Help and support
Improving the guidelines
These guidelines are not set in stone; they will be reviewed at the end of the trial period and will continue to evolve thereafter. Mechanisms will be set up to encourage bloggers to contribute their views and experience to improving the guidelines. In the first instance this will involve emailing your thoughts using the pilot feedback form. Later there will be an informal meeting at the end of the trial period.
