Value Added Learning in University Education

The programme has three phases of delivery, and participation in all three is necessary for successful completion of the programme. Here's a flavour of what is to come:

Pre-Programme - February/March

  • Open to all Stage 1 students in participating Schools.
  • Students are advised to attend revision and examination workshops advertised by the Student Learning Advisory Service, which take place at the end of the Spring Term.
  • VALUE interviews

Phase A (revision seminars and preparation)
Mainly 8th May - 18th May 2012

The programme for Phase A includes:

Phase B (results support) - From Stage 1 Examinations until Phase C

Results support will take place following the release of Phase 1 results. VALUE students will receive ongoing results and resit support either by email and telephone or on campus. Self-study, key skills and study skills development will be available for all.

The programme for Phase B includes:

  • Advice by phone or email for anyone unable to be on campus
  • Exam results advice and guidance
  • Advice on re-sits if needed
  • Planning ahead

Phase C (preparation for Stage 2)
Between 17th September - 21st September 2012

The programme for Phase C includes:

  • Academic preparation for Stage II
  • Programme evaluation
  • Skills development for Stage II
