Value Added Learning in University Education
The programme has three phases of delivery, and participation in all three is necessary for successful completion of the programme. Here's a flavour of what is to come:
Pre-Programme - February/March
- Open to all Stage 1 students in participating Schools.
- Students are advised to attend revision and examination workshops advertised by the Student Learning Advisory Service, which take place at the end of the Spring Term.
- VALUE interviews
Phase A (revision seminars and preparation)
Mainly 8th May - 18th May 2012
The programme for Phase A includes:
- Subject specific tuition
- Study skills workshops: revision preparation and exam strategies
- General support and guidanceng advisor
- European Computer Driving Licence
Phase B (results support) - From Stage 1 Examinations until Phase C
Results support will take place following the release of Phase 1 results. VALUE students will receive ongoing results and resit support either by email and telephone or on campus. Self-study, key skills and study skills development will be available for all.
The programme for Phase B includes:
- Advice by phone or email for anyone unable to be on campus
- Exam results advice and guidance
- Advice on re-sits if needed
- Planning ahead
Phase C (preparation for Stage 2)
Between 17th September - 21st September 2012
The programme for Phase C includes:
- Academic preparation for Stage II
- Programme evaluation
- Skills development for Stage II
