Angela Koch
Student Learning Advisor
Angela has developed and taught English as a foreign language and study skills courses at Further and Higher Education Institutions in the Soviet Union, China and Mozambique.
Angela joined the Student Learning Advisory Service at the UELT in June 2005 as an advisor. Originally form Germany, Angela completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies as a foreign student at British universities. Her academic background is firmly in Social Sciences (Anthropology, Geography, Environmental and Development Studies).
Current Activities
- Convening UN304 Developing Academic Practice, a study skills module (level C) open to stage 1 students of the Faculty of Social Sciences
- Convening VALUE MaP, a programme for mature and part-time students supporting study skills
- Providing study advice and guidance to individual students
- Teaching workshops on different aspects of studying
- Developing teaching and information material
- Working on academic integrity and plagiarism prevention guidance for students
