Welcome to Student Services

There is a network of services available on campus that aim to meet the needs of students by providing high quality specialised guidance and welfare advice. This network comes under the Student Services Division and is designated to provide:

  • Clear information outlining the services on offer
  • The co-ordination of these services
  • Collaborative working relationships with all other student support departments on campus

The services under the Student Services Division offer:

  • Accessible medical care
  • Confidential counselling on personal matters
  • Opportunities to explore spiritual and religious needs
  • Assistance in making career choices
  • Help for disabled students
  • Information on welfare issues

The division aims:

  • To enable students to fulfill their potential for academic and personal development by offering appropriate guidance and welfare services which supports their capacity for responsible and informed decision making.
  • To provide a co-ordinated network of student guidance and welfare services which offers ease of communication and referral across academic, administrative and Students’ Union boundaries
  • To ensure that this network of services on offer by the University is effective, client centred, impartial and confidential.
  • To ensure that a range of delivery systems are in place which will enable students to access the high quality information, guidance and counselling services.
  • To maintain collaborative working relationships with all other departments on campus.
  • To put in place quality systems for monitoring and evaluating the efficacy of the range of services offered.
