Urgent: Illegal parking near Canterbury campus

Sent on behalf of Kent Police and the University

Kent Police and the University are concerned that a number of University members have been parking illegally and dangerously in the St Stephen’s area of Canterbury, particularly on the hill near the path to Tyler Court.

Vehicles are being parked not only in a dangerous location but also left partly on the pavement. Parking on pavements often leads to pedestrians - especially the elderly, those with disabilities and parents with young children - having to walk in the road, putting them at risk.

In order to maintain public safety and avoid traffic penalties, please park more considerately in a safer area. Alternatively, leave your car at home and share with others or make use of the excellent bus services to campus.

Many thanks for your co-operation.
