The Police Commissioner debate - 22 October

The School of Politics and International Relations will be hosting 'The Police Commissioner debate' on Monday 22 October at 6pm in Keynes Lecture Theatre 1 on Canterbury campus. Speakers (to be confirmed) will include:

ߦ Ann Barnes (Independent)
ߦ Craig Mackinlay (Conservative)
ߦ Steve Uncles (English Democrats)
ߦ Piers Wauchope (UKIP)
ߦ Harriet Yeo (Labour)

Police Commissioners will be responsible for setting priorities for their police force, overseeing its budget and hiring the chief constable. Those in the biggest force areas will receive salaries of more than £100,000 and no prior police force experience is needed. With the election less than a month away - 15 November - here's your chance learn what some of the candidates stand for and ask challenging questions to help you decide who to vote for.

The debate is part of the School of Politics and International Relations' Open Forum session. All are welcome to attend.
