'Bear-faced' singing raises charity funds

Story published at 3:16pm 19 November 2009

Over one hundred people turned out to sing the 'Hallelujah' Chorus in Eliot Hall on Thursday lunchtime to raise money for Children In Need.

Staff, students and member of the public lifted the roof of the hall and raised £430, to the delight of the Director of Music, Susan Wanless, who was adorned for the event with a plethora of Pudsey Bear stickers; the Deputy Director of Music, Dan Harding, was attired in a suitably Handelian frock-coat.

A thoroughly entertaining event was crowned with a complete performance of the 'Hallelujah' Chorus, culminating in a spontaneous burst of applause from everyone in the hall. Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in the event.
