Five Kent Sport members have been chosen from over 30 applicants to take part in Kent Sports Xercise factor. The lucky five will embark on a six week fitness and exercise plan in an effort to change their health and lifestyle habits. “Oli explained that if I was to really be marathon fit, then I needed to incorporate something called “interval training”. My previous half-hearted approach to marathon training was suddenly turned on its head as he explained how I should split some of my runs into speed sessions, hill sprints and other things that were really hard. In a word, if I was going to be ready for the Virgin London Marathon in April then I needed to pull my finger out and start putting some effort into my training.
My next session with Oli was much more successful, and with my motivation and his determination we managed some super-circuits which included more lunges, press-ups, planks and squats. I felt great after the session and am already looking forward to the next – mind you, I can’t walk, bend my legs or stretch my arms – but hey – that is marathon training Xercise Factor style!”
I am doing all this for Oxfam by the way – please give me your support www.virginmoneygiving.com/RachelHampton-Saint
