Year abroad

In their third year of study, every student goes abroad. Single honour students will spend one year in Germany, joint honours can either split the year or choose to concentrate on one subject. You may choose either to study at a German university, to arrange a work placement with an approved German company, or to work as a teaching assistant at a German school (by arrangement with the British Council). All of these options attract ERASMUS support for EU citizens.

Whatever you choose, the following presentation should give you a first idea of life in Germany and what to keep in mind regarding your year abroad.

Below you will find more information on the various partner universities of the German Department. Each University has provided a small presentation with important and interesting facts. Apart from that you can also browse the official website for any other information you may need.
