The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) was founded in 1925 and is worldwide the largest funding organisation supporting international exchange for university students and academics of any discipline. It regularly offers scholarships and grants for Germans to go abroad and for foreigners to go to Germany and helps promoting the German language worldwide through various programmes, for instance the DAAD-Lektoren programme.
The London branch office was founded in 1927 and is the oldest of 15 DAAD branch offices. Providing funding for the UK and the Republic of Ireland it is – after your local Lektor – the first point of information if you are thinking about studying or researching in Germany. For more information, visit their website http://www.daad.org.uk.
On the following pages you find information on recent and annual scholarships, grants and programmes for which you can apply. The DAAD in Bonn also offers a scholarship database which you can find here.
If you have any questions, please contact the DAAD-Lektorin Susanne Krauß (S.Krauss@kent.ac.uk) – Cornwallis NW121, ext. 7528.
