The EPSRC is the main UK government agency for funding research and training in engineering and the physical sciences, investing around £500 million a year in a broad range of subjects – from mathematics to materials science, and from information technology to structural engineering.
The EPSRC offers postgraduate awards for research or advanced courses by means of quota allocations and open competition. Some research awards are available in collaboration with industry.
Applications for EPSRC awards should be made through the school in which the proposed study or research is to be undertaken. Candidates should not apply directly to the EPSRC.
