Electoral Roll

Full time students only

The University is required by the Electoral Registration Officer at Canterbury City council to submit an Electoral register return every October of the names of students living in University accommodation.

To be included in the university's return a student must be resident in the following campus accommodation: Darwin, Elliot, Keynes, Rutherford or Woolf colleges, Parkwood Courts, Beverley Farm or Hothe Court. Residents of any other university accommodation are not included in the university's returns and students should ensure that they are included in any return made from where they are living.

The University makes every effort to ensure that all eligible students are included in the return. To be included on the register of electors you must be aged 16 or over (but you cannot vote until your 18th birthday), and be a British citizen, a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, European Union member state, British Overseas Territory or a Commonwealth Country.

The University has chosen to opt all students out of being on the edited electoral register. By opting students out, it means your details will not be sold on to third parties. The edited electoral register can be sold on to anyone who wishes to buy it

If you are living in private accommodation it is your responsibility to register to vote.

Members of Staff
