Research interests

  • Investigating intergroup bullying amongst adolescents: how do peer bystanders respond?
  • How can we encourage peer bystanders to actively challenge bullying? What are the inhibitors and motivators?
  • Ways of reducing bullying amongst children and adolescents: what are the developmental differences?
  • Evaluating existing anti-bullying interventions to reduce bullying and forms of discrimination amongst young people.

Teaching Commitments

I teach 2nd year undergraduate Social Psychology and Developmental Psychology seminars.

I work with the University of Kent's Partnership Schools outreach programme, delivering Psychology taster sessions to students at Primary and Secondary schools in Kent.
