Research Interests

My research looks at whether sexist ideologies may be a factor in determining why pregnant women are often restricted in decision making for lifestyle choices. I am ultimately interested in whether benevolent and hostile sexism features as a function of intervention, even when concrete evidence of prohibited behaviours for pregnant women, are lacking. My research will develop theory linking benevolent sexism to paternalism toward pregnant individuals, and will test against alternatives.
