Research Interests

Developmental Social Psychology. I am interested in the development of social expectations and stereotypes among children, particularly gender stereotypes relating to academic motivation, conduct and achievement. My research focuses on the gender gap in children's academic performance and how the phenomenon of stereotype threat, social identity and norms may be contributing to this.

Social Psychology Associate Lecturer/seminar leader for 2nd Year Undergraduate students.

I am also involved in outreach work with the University's Partnership Schools Scheme.

Past Research Assistant work:

  • Projects with Dr Lindsey Cameron and Dr Sofia Stathi looking at reducing racial prejudice in children through imagined contact.
  • Projects with Dr Robbie Sutton and Dr Karen Douglas looking at intergroup criticism, dehumanisation, and perceptions of climate change.
