Experience Excellence Studying People

Elizabeth Siddell

Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

During my A Levels I found myself fascinated by psychology and was keen to learn more and so chose to study psychology for my undergraduate degree. Studying at Kent gave me the opportunity to learn more and feed my fascination and drive to understand people and the way they behave. Furthermore, throughout my degree I found the psychology department staff very supportive which really added to the experience of studying at Kent. On graduating I was certain that I wanted to continue into a career in psychology.

Since graduating I have worked in various mental health settings in the NHS. In my current role I have completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Evidenced Based Psychological Interventions and work in a psychology department providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to people with depression and anxiety disorders. I always found studying psychology captivating and it's hugely rewarding to work in a role that allows me to use that knowledge to help others.

Having had such a positive experience of studying at Kent I am now going back to university to take a Master's in Clinical and Community Psychology and hope to train as a clinical psychologist in the future.
