All CFS staff are active researchers working on a broad range of topics in the field of federalism and multi-level systems in general.
Current projects
- Prof Burgess, Prof Sakwa and Dr Dardanelli are involved in a project exploring 'Federalism and Democracy', supported by the James Madison Trust.
- Prof Burgess is working on a project analysing the potential of federalim as a institutional tool of conflict resolution, based on a comparative analysis of Cyprus, Sri Lanka and Iraq. Comparing federal and state constitutions in comparative federalism and federation.
- Dr Dardanelli has started working on a comparative study of the impact of Euopean integration on the process of federalisation in Belgium, Spain and Italy.
