About

Dr Tim Kinnear studied for his BSc and MSc in Physics at the University of Warwick and went on to complete his PhD in Physics at the University of Kent in 2015, his thesis being 'Investigation into triggered star formation by radiative driven implosion'.

Tim is a member of the Centre for Astrophysics and Planetary Science and an Advanced IT Support Technician for the School of Physics and Astronomy. He manages the TOR server, as well as participating in the teaching of students on IT-related modules.

Research interests

Dr Tim Kinnear's research interests are in computational astrophysics, especially hydrodynamic simulation and radiative transfer, and particularly in relation to debris disks and hydrodynamic behaviour in HII regions.
