Speaker: Professor Carl Lygo

Vice-Chancellor's Lecture

Carl Lygo is the Principal of BPP University College and Chief Executive Officer of BPP Holdings Ltd, the private provider of professional training and higher education for the legal, financial and business sectors.

Carl is a qualified Barrister with over 21 years’ experience in the education sector, and has worked at BPP for the past 15 years, eight of which as a board director. As Chairman of BPP Law School, he was instrumental in increasing turnover from £1million to £50m.

Prior to BPP, he practised in the areas of personal injury and employment law, before entering education. He was a lecturer in law at London Guildhall, City and East Anglia universities. Former appointments include special education advisor to the Judicial Studies Board by the Lord Chief Justice. Carl was shortlisted for “Outstanding Individual Contribution to Education” by Education Investor magazine.
