University of Kent students perform with star sax player

The University of Kent Concert Band and Big Band will present Birdland to Boogie, an evening of classic tunes in the Gulbenkian Theatre on Friday 15 February. The Big Band, conducted by Ian Swatman, will be joined by guest instrumentalist Phil Veacock, the tenor saxophonist with the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.

The concert begins at 7.45pm, and the audience can get in the mood beforehand with cocktails, jazz and vocals from the student group Sing! in the Gulbenkian Café Bar.
