The University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7NZ, T +44 (0)1227 764000
The University of Kent has been ranked 34th out of 117 UK higher education institutions in the Times Good University Guide 2013 (published 14 June).
This represents an improvement on last year's position and follows the University's 22nd placing in the Guardian University Guide 2013.
Combined, both guides confirm Kent's reputation as a top university, both nationally and in the southeast.
The Times Good University Guide highlights Kent's significant improvement in Graduate Prospects, an endorsement of its strengths and successes in student employability. The publication also ranks 71% of Kent's subjects among the top 30 nationally, with four among the top 10, and 11 other subject areas among the top 20.
Professor Dame Julia M Goodfellow, Vice-Chancellor of the University, welcomed the news. She said: 'Kent's rise in this year's Times Good University Guide shows the very high standards of academic excellence, student experience and research performance we provide across all our campuses.
'I'm particularly delighted that the Guide highlights our successes in student employability.'
The Times Good University Guide is based on official data collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the National Student Survey, published by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (Hefce) and the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.
