New student drama at Kent

Two students from the University of Kent's School of Drama, Film and Visual Arts (SDFVA) will premiere a double-bill of original theatre productions on 26 and 27 September.

The productions, by MA Practice as Research students Kristin Fredricksson and Rob Vesty, will take place at The Lumley Studio on the University's Canterbury campus at 7pm. Tickets are £4 (£2 concessions) and the total running time for both works is approximately two hours.

Kristin Fredricksson's production, titled Everything Must Go or The Voluntary Attempt to Overcome Unnecessary Obstacles, is intriguingly described as 'an athletic-puppetic performance installation inspired by a father's life'.

One Good Woman, written by and starring Rob Vesty, is 'the story of a good woman turned sour by the memory of one man who crushed her heart so hard, she couldn't let him go'.

Launched successfully in 2002, the practice-based research Drama MA was the first of its kind in Britain. With access to the full resources of SDFVA, students, teachers and professional artists are invited to create and reflect on their own practice, producing work in a stimulating and supportive environment.

To purchase a ticket or for further information contact the Drama Department on 01227 827567 or email Sue Sherwood.
