High level of interest in Postgraduate Open Day

Personal development and career prospects and progression contribute to high level of interest in postgraduate study

The University is experiencing a high level of interest in its Postgraduate Open Day on Saturday 4 February.

This is due to the continuing appeal of full- and part-time postgraduate opportunities for personal development as well as career prospects and progression. Such interest also reflects Kent's range of academic programmes, dedicated postgraduate facilities, £4 million postgraduate scholarship fund and world-renowned academics.

Professor Diane Houston, Dean of the University's Graduate School, said: 'Graduate education is of increasing importance to new graduates as well as those seeking personal or career development, particularly in such a challenging and competitive global job market. Kent has seen a significant increase in the numbers of postgraduate students. I would therefore encourage anyone who is interested in postgraduate study to either get in touch with the University's Information Office (+44 [0]1227 764000) and/or book a place for our Open Day.'

The February 4th Open Day, which runs from 11am-3pm, will offer those interested in postgraduate study the opportunity to meet with the University’s leading academics, tour its Canterbury campus, and learn more about accommodation, funding and study locations.

Among the subject areas offering postgraduate opportunities are: Anthropology and Conservation; Architecture; Arts; Biosciences; Business; Computing; Economics; Engineering and Digital Arts; English; European Culture and Languages; History; Journalism; Law; Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science; Pharmacy; Physical Sciences; Politics and International Relations; Psychology; Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research; and Sports Studies.
