Political cartoons in the spotlight at open lecture

Geographer Dr Daniel Hammett, will give an open lecture at the University of Kent on Wednesday 1 February at 6pm.

The lecture, titled 'The (R)evolution will be satirised: Political cartoons and the process of democracy', will take place in the Woolf College Lecture Theatre on the University's Canterbury campus. Admission is free and open to all.

Dr Hammett is a lecturer in political and development geographies at the University of Sheffield and Research Associate at the University of the Free State, South Africa. His work focuses on geographies of citizenship and identity in southern Africa, the use of technologies for democratisation, and geopolitical engagements with political satire and state iconography.
