The University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7NZ, T +44 (0)1227 764000
A new programme of part-time courses for personal development and qualifications starts at the University of Kent in January 2009.
The courses, which are open to everyone over 16 years of age interested in gaining qualifications, developing their skills or learning for pleasure, will run at a number of locations across the county, including Ashford, Canterbury, Medway, Tenterden and Tonbridge.
Study options include the Certificate in Combined Studies, which is an excellent way to try out a new subject and gain Higher Education credits at certificate level; and Open Studies Short Courses, which can be undertaken for the simple pleasure of learning about something new or developing existing interests.
It is not usually necessary to have formal qualifications to enroll on a course.
Subject areas include: Anthropology, Archaeology, Comparative Literary Studies, Ecology, English, French, Greek, History, History & Philosophy of Art, Spanish, Philosophy, Politics, Science, and Theology & Religious Studies.
Ursula Fuller, Dean of the Centre for Flexible Learning at the University, said: 'Short courses are often the start of a change of direction or the opportunity to study a lifelong interest. Part-time students also gain so much from being members of the University. So, I would encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch as soon as possible to discuss their options.'
