Kent consolidates position as top 30 university

The University of Kent has been ranked 28th out of 124 UK institutions in the Complete University Guide 2014 - a rise of five places from last year.

This rise, combined with the University's third place for overall satisfaction in the most recent National Student Survey (2012) and other recent league table achievements, including a ranking of 22nd in the 2013 Guardian University Guide and 28th in the Sunday Times League Table 2013, confirms Kent's position in the top tier of UK universities.

As Kent approaches its 50th anniversary it also has found itself ranked among the top 80 'under 50' universities in the world by the Times Higher Education in what the publication describes as a celebration of universities 'that have reached the top of the global academy in decades, not centuries'.

David Nightingale, Kent’s Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, said: 'Once again, this is excellent news for the University. Our league table positions, together with our reputation for research-led teaching and student experience, confirm that Kent is a first choice destination for prospective students.'

The University of Kent has UK campuses in Medway and Canterbury, recently voted by the Complete University Guide as one of the safest cities for students in England and Wales.

Launched in 2007, the Complete University Guide offers comparisons between UK universities on a wide range of criteria including strength of research, student satisfaction, entry standards, staff/student ratio, spending on academic services, campus facilities, completion rates, good honours and graduate prospects.
