Canterbury Open Day

Visitors to the University of Kent's Canterbury Open Day will have the chance to find out why students have once again voted Kent one of the top ten universities in the country. The event is on Saturday 4 October, 10am - 3pm, and is open to all, without any need to book.

The Open Day will enable visitors to tour the Canterbury campus with a Kent student, view student accommodation, academic departments and campus facilities, and talk with tutors from the wide range of subjects on offer at the University.

Information and guidance will also be available on the full range of study options to include full-time, part-time and postgraduate study, as well as detailed presentations on the UCAS admissions process, student finance (including scholarships and bursaries), and student support services available at Kent.

A series of talks, demonstrations and workshops will run throughout the day, allowing visitors to sample a wide range of subjects and to experience what it's like to be a Kent student.

Mary Hughes, Head of Admissions and Partnership Services, said: 'Our Open Days give you a glimpse of university life. You can talk to our academic staff about our degree programmes, and find out more from our students about the excellent social and sports facilities we have here at Kent.'

Kent students recently voted the University among the top ten universities in the UK and the number one in London and the south-east, for the second year running. According to the 2008 National Student Survey, 90% of final-year full-time undergraduates at the University of Kent are satisfied with the quality of their courses.
