University international relations expert Dr Gülnur Aybet has been invited to join Turkey's influential Global Relations Forum (GRF).
Dr Aybet, of the School of Politics and International Relations, has already contributed to the GRF as part of a task force working on policy recommendations on Turkeys approach to security but now joins as a full member.
She said: I'm delighted to be invited to be a member of this influential forum which makes an important contribution to the public debates on shared and coordinated international responsibility and Turkey's roles as an engaged stakeholder and actor in the global agenda.
'Following the demise of the Soviet communist bloc and the rise in importance of US foreign policy, it became clear that impartial bodies like the American Council on Foreign Relations had much to recommend them. The GRF has quickly established itself as a forum that is held in high esteem, both in Turkey and internationally.'
