Former director of BBC World Service and Barbican Centre to give Open Lecture

Sir John Tusa, Chairman of the University of Arts London will give an Open Lecture at the University of Kent on Friday 28 November.

Titled If Music is the Staff of Life, pay up! Sir John Tusa's lecture will take place at 6pm in the Brabourne Lecture Theatre, Keynes College, on the University's Canterbury campus. The open lecture is free and open to all. There is disabled access to Keynes College and the lecture theatre.

Sir John Tusa joined the BBC in 1960. He presented a range of programmes, such as: The Money Programme, Radio 4's The World Tonight and Newsnight before being appointed Managing Director of the BBC World Service in 1986.

In 1995, he became Managing Director of the Barbican Centre and moved to his current role as Chairman of the University of Arts London in summer 2007.

Sir John Tusa has also published books and essays on journalism, history and, culture and the arts, including Engaged with the Arts: Writings from the Frontline and Art Matters: Reflecting on Culture.
