The University of Kent is hosting an Information and Guidance Day at the University Centre, Avebury Avenue, Tonbridge on Saturday 14 June.
Staff will be on hand from 10am - 1pm to provide information and advice on the wide range of learning opportunities. These include summer schools, short courses and part-time certificates, diplomas and degrees in subjects such as Archaeological Studies, Comparative Literary Studies, English Literature and Creative Writing, History and History & Philosophy of Art.
Whether learning for pleasure or to gain qualifications, these informal drop-in sessions will enable prospective students to meet with staff and talk through the options available, or simply pick up a copy of the University's part-time prospectus. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is disabled access to the Tonbridge Centre.
Tony Pratley who achieved a certificate and diploma in Local History says 'As the course is run locally I can juggle my timetable and it's good to meet other friendly people from all walks of life.'I'm now catching up on my childhood dream of taking a history degree. Studying local genealogy back to medieval time is fascinating and takes you to another world. I graduate this year and my family will be very proud of me'
