The University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7NZ, T +44 (0)1227 764000
The University of Kent is running a series of informal events around the county during May and June aimed at anyone who wants to find out more about part-time study.
The drop-in sessions are taking place at the University's Canterbury and Medway campuses, as well as at its Tonbridge Centre and several other locations. The events will help people to find out more about the range of part-time courses and study options on offer, whether they want to gain qualifications, develop skills or simply learn for pleasure.
The University's information team and subject specialists will be on hand to answer questions about all aspects of studying, such as funding, support and combining a part-time course with family or work commitments. Some of the programmes do not require students to have formal qualifications.
A wide range of study options are available, including creative writing, natural history, languages, art and film, health and social care, philosophy, science, psychology and counselling.
Michelle Rowe, the University's Recruitment, Information and Guidance Unit Manager, said the drop-in sessions would help spread the word about part-time study opportunities. 'They are a great way for people in Kent to discover all sorts of courses they didn't know existed, meet the experts and have their questions answered,' she said.
Information sessions take place at the Canterbury campus on 14 May, the Medway campus at Chatham Maritime on 21 May and the Tonbridge Centre on 14 June.
There are also events in Gravesend Library (7 May), Dover Discovery Centre (14 May), Horsebridge Arts and Community Centre, Whitstable (21 May), Broadstairs Library (28 May) and Sevenoaks Library (4 June).
