EU experts contribute to regional understanding of Article 50

Experts on all aspects of the EU comment via all media following the triggering of Article 50 that begins the process of the UK leaving the European Union.

Experts from disciplines such as economics, politics, social policy and business have responded to a range of media requests on Article 50 and Brexit.

Regional:-

  • Dr Philip Cunliffe, a senior lecturer in International Conflict, in the School of Politics and International Relations (POLIR) was interviewed by ITV Meridian in his office on the issue of sovereignty and democracy after Article 50, as well as writing an expert opinion column for the Kentish Gazette.
  • Dr Adrian Pabst, senior lecturer in Politics (POLIR) commented on the challenges of a deal on Brexit within the specified two year time period on BBC Radio Kent’s drivetime programme with Dominic King.
  • Dr Fagkiskos Filippaios, reader in International Business at Kent Business School (KBS), was interviewed by Global for their radio programmes, Heart FM in Kent and LBC in London.
  • Professor Neophytos Loizides, International Conflict Analysis expert, spoke on BBC Radio Kent about his personal views of Brexit.

National:-

  • Professor Richard Whitman, Head of the School of Politics and International Relations and Senior Visiting Fellow at Chatham House, wrote explanatory reports about Article 50 for The Conversation, Daily Express and Global Europe Digest. He also contributed to the BBC Radio Kent breakfast programme and filmed for the BBC’s Sunday Politics show.
  • Professor Matthew Goodwin, Professor of Politics, (POLIR), was interviewed live by BBC News 24 on St Stephens Green, Westminster.
