Two weekend workshops will offer participants an opportunity to learn more about how to identify, handle and forensically examine skeletal remains.

The first workshop, titled Medieval Burials in Canterbury, will take place on 20 and 21 June, from 10am-4pm, in the Marlowe Building at the University’s Canterbury Campus.

Participants will learn how to identify and handle real archaeological human skeletal remains. The two-day workshop will also feature the methods used to estimate the age at death, biological sex and stature of an individual.

The second workshop, titled CSI at Kent, will take place on 27 and 28 June, at the same time and venue. Participants will learn about several aspects of forensic anthropology and gain experience in the archaeological methods used to recover human remains. They will learn how to handle human skeletal remains, identify human bone and teeth and build a biological profile.

The workshops are aimed at people of all levels and cost £75 per person per course. For more information and to book a place see: https://store.kent.ac.uk/browse/product.asp?compid=1&modid=5&catid=49
