Students from the University's Centre for Journalism have filmed, produced, and edited a spoof Christmas film for BBC Radio Kent.

The music video, titled ‘Fairytale of Kent’, features Radio Kent’s breakfast presenters singing new lyrics to the classic Christmas song, ‘A Fairytale of New York’.

Using a host of skills learnt from their course, the students were invited to the BBC’s regional headquarters in Tunbridge Wells to film the presenters singing the new lyrics. The students involved were: Amy Nickalls , Victoria Polley and Stine Wannebo, who are all third year undergraduates.

You can watch the film here.

The video is being promoted extensively on social media by BBC Radio Kent and other regional BBC news stations.

The Centre for Journalism is based at the University’s Medway campus.  It is ranked first in the UK for journalism in the Guardian University Guide, 2015.
