Chancellor, Gavin Esler by Chris Close

Dr Gavin Esler, Chancellor of the University and award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author, will deliver this year’s Foundation Day Lecture.

The Foundation Day Lecture takes place on Thursday 20 November 2014 at 6.30pm in Woolf College Lecture Theatre (Canterbury campus).

Held annually on Foundation Day, the Lecture celebrates the University’s many achievements since receiving its Royal Charter in 1965.

This year’s lecture holds even more significance as the University celebrates its 50th anniversary. In addition, Dr Esler is an alumnus of Kent.

The lecture, titled ‘Trust Me: How Trust has been diminished in the Suspicious Century’, will focus on the Scottish independence referendum and how the lack of trust in Westminster played a big part in the campaign.

More information about Dr Gavin Esler is available here.

Admission to the lecture is free and open to all.
