The University's Creative Writing Reading Series runs every Tuesday until 13 December with a host of different leading authors each week reading from their work.

American journalist and writer, Lionel Shriver, will be joining the series on Tuesday 22 November to discuss her new book, The Mandibles: A Family, 2029–2047, which looks at a wealthy American family during an economic downfall.

The weekly reading series, which is free and open to students, staff and members of the public, also invites audience members to take part in literary discussion after the readings.

Other writers during the series also include Nikesh Shukla (The Good Immigrant) and poet and novelist, Brian Catling (The Vorrh).

The series runs on Tuesdays until 13 December and begins at 18.00 and takes place in the Keynes Senior Common Room at the University’s Canterbury campus.

The School of English’s Centre for Creative Writing offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses and students are taught by published writers. MA taught students are also given the opportunity to study their course entirely in Paris or one term.
