Fayek's discussed how his studies helped his career development.

Kent Business School has launched the first in the new series of lectures, the MSc Marketing Alumni Masterclass, the first of which featured Fayek Alami, Franchise Director at PepsiCo, Saudi Arabia, and former student of the School.

Fayek gave an in-depth lecture to Kent students over Microsoft Teams, covering his experiences as a student at Kent, where he graduated in 2009, and how he used knowledge from his studies to progress his career. Fayek also gave the MSc students unique insights into how the MSc programme relates to real work experience, as well as his tips for studying and career development.

Fayek said of his talk: ‘I was so pleased when Des contacted me and asked me to give the first of the MSc Marketing Alumni Masterclasses he has organised. I hugely enjoyed my time at Kent and it helped me to get to where I am now. I am delighted to give something back to the current students and PepsiCo were very supportive of this initiative.’

Dr Des Laffey, MSc Marketing Programme Director at Kent Business School and organiser of the Masterclass series, said: ‘I have always known how strongly alumni associate with the University of Kent and the Kent Business School. The Masterclass series plans to showcase our alumni and provide career role models for current students. Fayek was a great student and a fantastic ambassador for both Kent and now his employer PepsiCo.’

The next Masterclass is scheduled for 4 November with Xiaowen Li, who graduated from the MSc Marketing in 2018. Xiaowen will explain how the MSc Marketing enabled her to obtain her career goal working for Mode Business.
