The Practice nurse can help with a wide range of issues, for example: advice and treatment for a wide variety of minor ailments, blood tests, smears, travel health information, contraception and immunisations.
When you ring for an appointment with the Practice Nurse you might be asked by the Receptionist what the reason is for your appointment. You do not have to give this information unless you want to. Each appointment is 10 minutes long and some procedures such as having your ears syringed will take longer than a single appointment. If you are coming about more than one problem the Receptionist will need to be informed so that she can book you a longer appointment with the Nurse.
If you don't inform the Receptionist when you phone you will automatically be given a single appointment and the Nurse may not have time to deal with your particular problem(s) and you may have to return on another day.
