The Student Learning Advisory Service

The Student Learning Advisory Service (SLAS) offers free, friendly advice about effective learning and study. Based at the Canterbury and Medway campuses, all SLAS’ services are open to Tonbridge students, and we also offer VALUE MaP sessions at the Avebury Avenue Centre.

The service is for students from all academic disciplines, ages and levels including undergraduates and postgraduates.

Academic advice and guidance

Services include:
    • improving the quality of written assignments
    • learning from lectures and seminars
    • oral presentations
    • managing your reading load
    • reading techniques
    • note-taking
    • revision and exam techniques
    • time management and confidence building
    • planning dissertations and other long projects.

Programmes and workshops

A wide range of study skills workshops and programmes run throughout the year.
