Study carrels are individual study rooms located on Levels 2, 3 and 4 of the Templeman Library.
Carrels can be rented on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis and are available for the use of postgraduate students. Daily carrels are also available to final year undergraduates.
All carrels are wireless-enabled; see the Wireless Service pages for information on using the service.
Monthly and quarterly rental: download an application form (pdf) and hand it in at the Welcome Desk on Level 1 Centre of the Library. You will also need an academic school authorisation form (pdf) completed by your supervisor or tutor. Both forms only need to be completed once in each academic year.
Two postgraduates can jointly rent a carrel on a monthly or quarterly basis but must not use the carrel at the same time. For a joint rental, each applicant must submit all required forms.
To renew a carrel rental, you must pay the cost of the next rental period within the last week of the current period.
You can arrange a break in rental for a period of weeks - ask at the Welcome Desk for more information.
Daily rental: ask at the Welcome Desk for availability; daily carrels are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
