Journals and official publications
Not all journal volumes or items in the British Government Publications Collection or European Documentation Centre have barcodes or are individually listed on the Library catalogue.
As a new service, such items will now be issued to your Library account when you borrow them. This means you can renew them online, or in person at the Loan Desk, if not needed by another borrower. Items can be recalled from you and are subject to fines for late returns.
Journals
Only postgraduate students or academic staff can borrow journals.
Take the journal you wish to borrow to the Loan Desk and fill in a journal loan form; forms are available from the Loan Desk and IT & Library Support Desk or online (pdf).
The item will be issued to your Library account for one week, normally within two working days. The due date may be extended slightly as a result of this procedure. Please check your Library account for due dates and other details.
Official publications
Take the BGPC or EDC item you wish to borrow to the Loan Desk and fill in an official publications loan form; forms are available from the Loan Desk and IT & Library Support Desk or online (pdf).
The item will be issued to your Library account as an Ordinary Loan item (variable loan period, depending on your status), normally within two working days. The due date may be extended slightly as a result of this procedure. Please check your Library account for due dates and other details.
